Privacy policy

This policy covers the Fated Pages website and iOS app from Borrowed Fire LLC. Fated Pages is a founder-led romantasy matchmaker, so this policy uses "I" for the product choices I make through Borrowed Fire LLC. I collect and process only the information needed to run the waitlist, provide optional app accounts, restore app data, improve the product, and respond to support requests.

Website privacy

This website does not currently include third-party analytics scripts. Fated Pages does not use cookies or tracking pixels on this website. Fonts are self-hosted. Cloudflare and other infrastructure providers may process standard request information needed to deliver and secure the site.

Waitlist and email

If you join the Fated Pages waitlist, email support, or request launch updates, I use your email address to respond to that request and manage launch access. Waitlist submissions are stored in Cloudflare KV and include your email address, submission source, first and last submission timestamps, and submission count.

To operate and protect the waitlist form, Fated Pages stores limited anti-abuse request details separately from the waitlist entry when those details are available: submitted time, referrer, user agent, and Cloudflare country. Those short-lived records are automatically deleted after 30 days.

iOS app access

Fated Pages is free to use. The full app — Match, Browse, Shelf, Pulse, Me, recommendations, reader checks, feedback, warnings, shelves, and taste editing — is available after onboarding with no subscription or purchase. Sign in with Apple is optional: it backs up and restores your taste, shelves, and reading signals across devices, but it does not gate any feature.

If you sign in and Apple provides an email address or Apple user identifier, Fated Pages may receive it for authentication. Supabase stores the private account record. The app stores the Supabase session in the iOS Keychain, which is governed by Apple's Keychain, iCloud Keychain, backup, and account recovery behavior.

Local app data and Apple backups

Fated Pages stores reader state on your device, including onboarding and taste choices, selected trope or preference markers, saved books, shelf state, reading and feedback signals, recommendation runs, and app state.

Local app data may be included in encrypted device backups, iCloud backups, or device-account recovery systems depending on your iOS settings and backup configuration. That backup behavior is controlled by Apple and is separate from the Fated Pages Supabase backend.

Supabase sync

When you are signed in, Fated Pages may send reader-sync payloads to Supabase. Those payloads can include selected options, feedback events, recommendation-run context, reader signals, and catalog version. The current backend stores account/profile rows, book feedback events, and calibration events you submit.

Fated Pages does not collect free-text reading prompts, private notes, public profile posts, direct messages, or public social content.

Analytics

The iOS app uses TelemetryDeck for product analytics. Events may include app usage, onboarding activity, recommendation interactions, feedback actions, app locale, app language, selected markers, book slugs, catalog version, and a pseudonymous analytics identifier. Analytics are not used for advertising and are not used to track you across apps or websites.

Book buy links

Book detail and match-result screens show buy links to Amazon (print and Kindle) and, where a confirmed audiobook exists, Audible. These are Amazon Associates affiliate links carrying my associate tag. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon reports affiliate activity to me only in aggregate, never tied to your identity. Fated Pages does not sell books in the app, does not provide an in-app reader, and does not display in-app prices.

Service providers

Fated Pages uses Apple for sign-in, device storage, backups, and App Store services; Supabase for private account sync and app backend features; Amazon for the Amazon Associates affiliate program and the Amazon, Kindle, and Audible buy links Fated Pages opens; TelemetryDeck for privacy-focused product analytics; and Cloudflare for website hosting, security, and waitlist storage. I do not sell your personal information and do not use your data for cross-app tracking.

Retention and deletion

You can clear local app data from the Me tab settings screen in Fated Pages. You can also delete your Fated Pages account in the app; account deletion removes the Supabase account record and account-linked app data that I am not legally required to keep, then clears local app data from the device.

Waitlist email addresses are kept until they are no longer needed for launch access or until you request deletion. Support emails and other direct communications are kept as long as needed to handle the request and maintain business records. Limited anti-abuse request details for waitlist submissions are automatically deleted after 30 days. You can request deletion of waitlist entries, support emails, or other direct communications by contacting admin@borrowedfire.com.
