Terms of use

These terms govern your use of the Fated Pages website and iOS app from Borrowed Fire LLC. By using Fated Pages, you agree to these terms and to Apple's App Store terms that apply to iOS subscriptions. Fated Pages is a founder-led app, so these terms use "I" for product choices I make through Borrowed Fire LLC.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Fated Pages. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Accounts and app access

The website can be viewed without an app account. The iOS app uses Sign in with Apple for private account access and restore. After onboarding, app access requires Sign in with Apple and an active Fated Pages Plus subscription. Browse, Match, Shelf, Pulse, Me, recommendations, reader checks, feedback, warnings, shelves, and taste editing are inside the subscribed app shell.

You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID, App Store account, and Fated Pages account access secure. You are also responsible for the accuracy of information you submit, including waitlist requests, support messages, taste choices, feedback, calibration events, and account requests.

Fated Pages Plus subscriptions

Fated Pages Plus is an auto-renewable subscription purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system. Plus unlocks paid app access, personalized book-matching features, private shelves, feedback tools, warning surfaces, reader checks, and taste-profile editing.

Available plans, prices, trial eligibility, billing periods, and renewal terms are shown before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions automatically renew until canceled. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings. Restore Purchases is available in the app. Apple handles subscription billing, cancellation, and refund requests.

Book sales and reading

Fated Pages is for book discovery and matching. It does not sell books or provide an in-app reader. Book Finder links can open Apple Books or Amazon search pages outside the app. Fated Pages does not use affiliate links or affiliate purchase attribution for those book-search links.

Account and data controls

Fated Pages uses private app accounts so app data and subscription status can be restored. In the app settings, you can sign out, clear local app data, or delete your Fated Pages account. Account deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription; subscription billing is managed separately in your App Store account.

No reading or purchase advice guarantee

Recommendations, match explanations, book details, spice levels, warnings, and reader guidance are informational. They may be imperfect and are not a guarantee that a book will fit your taste, boundaries, or content needs. Use your own judgment and check book details before buying or reading if you have specific needs.

User content and feedback

You keep ownership of content you submit, such as waitlist requests, support messages, taste choices, book feedback, reader signals, and calibration feedback. You give Borrowed Fire LLC permission to use that content to provide, operate, improve, and support Fated Pages.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse Fated Pages, abuse waitlist or support systems, provide false or misleading information, attempt to disrupt the service, reverse engineer the app except where legally allowed, or use Fated Pages in a way that violates applicable law or third-party platform terms.

Intellectual property

Fated Pages, Borrowed Fire, and the site design are owned by Borrowed Fire LLC. Third-party book information belongs to its respective owners.

Third-party services

Fated Pages depends on third-party services such as Apple, Supabase, Cloudflare, TelemetryDeck, Apple Books, and Amazon. I am not responsible for the content, availability, privacy practices, terms, billing decisions, refund decisions, or purchase handling of third-party services.

No warranty

Fated Pages is provided "as is" and "as available." I make reasonable efforts to keep it useful, but I do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free recommendations, complete book metadata, or perfect warning coverage.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Borrowed Fire LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including missed reads, purchases, subscriptions, data loss, service interruptions, or decisions you make based on Fated Pages. Borrowed Fire LLC's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Fated Pages in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.

Changes and termination

I may update, suspend, or discontinue any Fated Pages feature. I may also update these terms by changing the date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. I may suspend or terminate access if you misuse Fated Pages or violate these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
